FUTURA MEDICAL’S CSD500 – THE ‘VIAGRA CONDOM’

Condoms – most men hate them.
Why? Aside from the obvious – less feeling – a lot of guys find that, after a few drinks, they are unable to perform at their ‘optimum level’ whilst wearing one.
What if there was a condom that essentially guaranteed your performance in the bedroom?
That could soon be a reality.

Futura Medical, a small UK based biotech, have been working on the design of a new condom – the CSD500 – nicknamed the  ‘ Viagra condom’ by the media – and it could be available as early as next year.

How does it work? Firstly, to clarify – this condom is aimed at healthy men –  it’s not a treatment for severe ED. The product is designed for men who find condoms restrictive and performance reducing. You won’t need a prescription for the CSD500 and it will be sold in regular outlets, over-the-counter alongside standard condoms.
The CSD500 contains a special Viagra-like gel – Zanifil – in the tip of the condom. This gel is transferred through the skin using Dermysys technology, a highly efficient and proprietary delivery technology for the absorption of active molecules through the skin, developed by Futura.
The result? A firmer erection and increased size for a longer duration, as illustrated in the study below:
In a double blind clinical study comparing CSD500 against a standard condom, of those who expressed a preference, a significant proportion of both men and women reported improvements in the firmness of the man’s erection during intercourse when using CSD500, compared against a standard condom. A result that was highly statistically significant. Furthermore, of those who expressed a preference, a significant proportion of both men and women also felt that CSD500 increased the penis size and a significant proportion of women reported a longer lasting sexual experience with CSD500.  Source: Futura Medical
Background and Development
Futura Medical have had a few issues in getting the CSD500 to the market. Originally anticipated to be launched as a Durex condom, manufacturing and distribution agreements broke down after the owner of Durex, SSL International, was taken over by Reckitt Benckiser in 2010.
However, after terminating their agreements with Reckitt last year and regaining the rights to the condom, it now looks like Futura are moving forward.
Futura recently signed a licensing deal with Church & Dwight Co Inc – the owner of Trojan condoms – the largest condom manufacturer in the USA – and they aim to sign more contracts with other condom manufacturers in different geographic regions in the near future.
If all goes to plan, they aim to have the condom to the market in 2014.
This product certainly looks intriguing and Roll Like Boss will keep you updated with developments.
Investment Opportunity
On a side note, Futura Medical (stock code FUM) is listed on the AIM share market in the UK. For those interested in speculative investments, FUM looks like an interesting opportunity. At the time of writing, with a share price of 70p – the market cap of the company is a tiny GBP 55 million. If Futura get the CSD500 to market and receive royalties from condom sales, the share price could potentially take off. We believe demand for this product will be huge. However we must reiterate, this type of investment would only be suited to investors with a high tolerance for risk.
Note: The stock is not directly traded on any of the U.S. exchanges, although American depository certificates of Futura are available on the over-the-counter (OTC) market, listed as FAMDF. Like most OTC stocks it trades with very low volume, making it potentially difficult to offload, although this could easily change if the stock takes off.

  1. Great looking company, risky but massive potential if they succeed, also working on a cellulite cream and pain relief products, could be the start of something big.
