When you boot up the Uber app, if you’re anything like us, you may be torn between what car to select.
Do you boss it up and hit Uber LUX, knowing that a BMW 7 series car or similar will take you to your destination in style? Or do you hit UberX and settle for a ride in a Toyota Prius and the extra money in your pocket?
It’s quite an extreme between the two choices.
Wouldn’t it be great if there was an option that was somewhere in between?
Uber’s Best Kept Secret
Well there is – Uber Exec.
Don’t be fooled into thinking Uber Exec is only for corporate travel, you can use the Exec option in exactly the same way as you would with LUX or X.
Uber Exec cars are generally Mercedes E Class, BMW 5 Series or Audi A6 cars – meaning you’ll get a much more stylish ride than if travelling in an UberX Prius. It’s therefore ideal for everything from taking clients out to dinner to impressing your date on a Saturday night.

Uber Exec London – Pricing
But here’s the real kicker – the pricing is fantastic and SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than Uber LUX.
We trialled Uber Exec over the weekend – a journey from Clapham Junction to Kings Rd Chelsea on a Saturday night at 10pm cost us just £12 – a true bargain, given that a black cab most likely would have cost us around £18. We’ve done the same journey before in an UberX and that came in at £10, so the Exec option is certainly priced well. One thing to note though is that the minimum fare is £10 vs £5 for UberX.
While you don’t get all the bells and whistles that come with an Uber LUX journey such as gum, water, chocolates etc – Uber Exec cars do come equipped with smart phone chargers – handy for the heavy phone user.
If you’re looking to ride in style but don’t want to splash out on an Uber LUX ride, Uber Exec is definitely worth considering.
